Resurrection of a Barn is a gripping documentary that follows an 1890s barn's restoration and resurrection, allowing an intimate glimpse into the lives and choices of those who saved this important piece of history. This 23-minute film studies the artistic reuse of the barn that both honors the techniques of the 1800s, but brings it into the 21st-century needs.
The film features Amos Schwartz, an Indiana artisan and preservationist, who worked on many covered bridges and barns, including the Normandy barn which is now on the State Fairgrounds. Raised in an Amish family, Amos was familiar with the traditional techniques of building barns, something that is becoming a lost art.
